WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR SOFTWARE?
To provide basic training and system knowledge in a quick reference format. Each program covers a specific topic,
and is designed to help you better understand the subject. Content typically includes
basic operating theory and principles, and basic troubleshooting procedures that can be applied to any vehicle regardless of year, make or model.
HOW IS THE INFORMATION PRESENTED?
Our CDs are not training videos or eLearning courses. They are quick reference guides that provide a lot of information in one place. The main program menu provides topic buttons that take you to each section within the
program. Within each section is one or more articles about the topic plus pop-up illustrations.
NOTE: The material in our programs is written to cover as broad a range of vehicle
applications as possible. In some programs, repair information is provided for specific vehicle applications (ABS Guide, for example). But in most cases, repair procedures are "generic"
and can be used on almost any vehicle.
NOTE: If you are looking for vehicle-specific repair information, wiring diagrams, etc.,
to fix your car, your best source is a factory service manual (available from new car
dealers or www.helminc.com), or to subscribe to a service such as All-Data.
Our goal is to provide basic information that will help you UNDERSTAND the various vehicle systems so you can diagnose and repair common car problems.
ARE YOUR QUICK REFERENCE GUIDES AND ARTICLES AVAILABLE IN PRINT (BOOKS)?
No. But most pages within each program have a PRINT button that allow you to print out the text (also the illustrations in some programs).
IS YOUR SOFTWARE AVAILABLE IN STORES?
I wish it were, but I can't get any auto parts stores interested in selling my products. Big chain stores are reluctant to add new vendors, and are especially leery of stocking "non-traditional" products such as computer software. They sell fuzzy dice, air fresheners, floor mats and even diecast toy cars, but almost no software. So until somebody wakes up
and realizes the market potential for my quick reference guides, www.carleysoftware.com is the only place where you can purchase my products.

WHAT ABOUT UPDATES?
All of our products are an ongoing work in progress and are updated with new content from time to time.
NEW POLICY (1/20/07): Anyone who purchases one of my software products can receive the latest updated version by sending me their old CD and a check or money order for $15. If you purchased a download product, you can get the latest upgrade by emailing me a copy of your payment page from PayPal, and a payment of $15 via PayPal (send payment to carleyware@yahoo.com).
WHAT KIND OF COMPUTER AND OPERATING SYSTEM ARE REQUIRED?
Any desktop or notebook computer with a Windows 9x or higher operating system (Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP or Vista), and a CD-ROM or DVD drive that can read CD-R (writable) disks (4x speed or higher).
NOTE: Windows Vista users should click here if Vista is blocking a program and will not run or copy an EXE file.
No MAC, LINUX or PALM software is available at this time.
IS YOUR SOFTWARE AVAILABLE ON CDS OR AS DOWNLOADS?
All products are available on CDs, and most can also be purchased as downloads (the file is emailed to you as a zip file attachment). The only products NOT available as downloads are the Everything CD, 4-in-1 Diagnostic CD, 4-in-1 Undercar CD, and Library CD (files are too large to email).
NOTE: Programs ordered as downloads are emailed to you as ZIP file attachments. To open a zip file, you need Windows XP, WINZIP or a similar utility
program. If you don't know how to download and open ZIP files, order the CD version instead.
ALSO NOTE: Some e-mail servers (such as gmail) block incoming emails that contain zip files or program files to protect you against spam and viruses. This may require sending you the program at a different email address.
ALSO NOTE: If your mailbox is full, or you have a free email account (such as MSN hotmail) that will not accept attachments larger than 1 MB in size, you will not be able to receive your product as a download.

WHAT IS YOUR WARRANTY/RETURN POLICY?
We warranty all products for the first 30 days. If a CD is defective or is damaged in the mail, we will replace it FREE.
If you scratch, break or otherwise damage a CD after 30 days from the date of purchase, return the damaged CD with $15 and we will send you a replacement CD that
includes the latest version of the software.
SORRY, NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS ON SOFTWARE. for obvious reasons.

HOW DO I ORDER PROGRAMS?
If you want to use a credit card, return to the MAIN MENU and click on the title button of the product you wish to buy. When that page opens, scroll down and
click on the BUY NOW button to purchase the program on a CD or as a download.
CLICK HERE if you wish to order by regular mail and pay by check or money order.
We also accept PURCHASE ORDERS from schools (sorry, no POs or CODs from individuals or other
businesses unless preapproved). Email us for our FAX number.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Only through the
PAYPAL online credit card service.
Online orders through PAYPAL are processed as soon as payment is received. The order must
be manually processed, but usually takes no more than a few hours at most. If you are placing an order on the weekend or a holiday, the order may not be processed until the following Monday or next business day.
HOW SOON CAN I GET MY SOFTWARE?
If you are paying by credit card via PAYPAL and request the software to be sent to you by e-mail rather than normal mail, you can usually get it the same day -- sometimes within minutes of
placing your order. If you are ordering at night, on a weekend or holiday, your order will be processed the next business day.
If you are paying by mail with a check or money order, your order will be mailed to you or
sent to you by e-mail the same say your order is processed. All programs are mailed by
FIRST CLASS and typically take 3 to 5 days to arrive (US & Canada). Orders mailed outside the U.S. can take longer (1 to 2 weeks).
DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL ORDERS?
Our current policy is to deliver software to customers outside the U.S. and Canada by e-mail only (call or email to discuss other options).
The Carley Everything CD is available only to schools outside the U.S. and Canada, and must be sent by mail.
We DO NOT sell software to anyone in Nigeria, China, Russia or other countries that have a reputation for scamming, copyright infringement, lying, cheating, defrauding, swindling, etc., etc., etc. You reap what you sow.
Payment for orders placed from outside the U.S. will be accepted through PAYPAL only. If PAYPAL does NOT accept your credit card, there can be NO SALE.
DO I NEED A SITE LICENSE?
You may install our software on your own personal computer(s) for your own use. But if the software will be used by multiple users in a shop
or school, you must purchase a multi-user site license ($25 extra). A site license is automatically included with the Everything CD for Schools.
RESTRICTIONS: Software is copyrighted intellectual property, and subject
to protection under U.S. copyright laws. DO NOT copy, share or redistribute ANY software you have purchased.
Articles and program text can be printed out for classroom use, your own personal use or
for in-house employee training -- but NOT for publication, resale or distribution
over the internet or by any other printed or electronic means.
HOW DO YOU PROTECT YOUR SOFTWARE FROM PIRACY AND ILLEGAL FILE SHARING?
Our software contains security features including embedded registration information that enables us to monitor usage.
DO YOU HAVE A DISTRIBUTOR OR RESELLER PROGRAM?
Yes. To qualify as a distributor, you must be an automotive tool or parts distributor/reseller, or be an instructor or teacher in the U.S. or Canada only. To qualify for
discounted pricing, you must order 10 or more programs. Email us for details.
